2017 Self Love Workbook + Other Make-Dreams-Happen Planners

The Self Love workbook encourages women to take a look at their lives and really figure out what parts are lacking in love and self care and then discover how to start fixing those parts. Leonie’s Shining Year Planners is all about creating dreams and goals and making them come true!

Lavender Eye Pillow

I love these. Eye pillows are great for taking a moment to relax, adding extra indulgence to a nap, helping with a headache, and helping to relieve stress. You can put them in the freezer and use them as a cold compress or heat them for a few seconds in the microwave for a warm one. I found an embroidered handmade one on etsy years ago, and I still use it.  The scent is now very faint so I just put a drop or two of essential oils on it and I’m good to go.

Himalayan Salt Lamp

I bought one of these salt lamps last year and I absolutely love it. The light is warm and comforting and makes the perfect night-light. The salt lamp releases negative ions into the air, creating an effect similar to an ionizer, purifying the surrounding air and improving air quality. Let me tell you a story about how it works too well. When I first got one of these I decided to put it in my bedroom. My bedroom smells heavily of incense because I have a ritual of lighting some every day before bed. I love that it smells just like an occult shop. Within three days I noticed something was off – the incense smell was completely gone. So it works! I’ve since moved it into my living room so that I can have my good smell-y bedroom back.

Heated Blanket

I got my first heated blanket four days ago as a gift to myself because it’s cold and I’m tired of winter already. There’s nothing better than getting off work and wrapping it around my sore legs and feet. It’s so warm and wonderful.

Wisdom Cards

These wisdom cards are full of affirmations by Louise L Hay and if you’ve been following me for awhile you’ve probably seen me share them on the blog. Each card has a message on the front and the back meant to inspire you. There are affirmations and messages for goals, body love, self love, honoring your authenticity and individuality and more. These would make a great gift for someone who needs to think of themselves more kindly.

Fun Coloring Books

I love to color and now coloring books for adults is a thing. This coloring book is full of crude, vulgar, colorful, language because cursing is fun. Letting out a big stream of profanity every now and then is good for the soul. This coloring book is for the potty mouths in your life that have a sense of humor.

Essential Oils

I can not go on enough about how much I love essential oils. I use them for everything – relaxation, cleaning, body sprays, lotions, first aid, massages, bath products, carpet refresher, insect repellant – there’s essentially an oil for everyone. A beginner’s essential oil kit is a great way to be introduced to aromatherapy without feeling overwhelmed.

Fun Socks + Soft and Fuzzy Things

You really can’t go wrong with socks or comfy, fuzzy, pajama pants. What kind of monster wouldn’t love that for Christmas? Textiles actually have quite an effect on depression and anxiety. Give the gift of warmth and fuzzy things with a dash of humor. These “I Have Mood Swings” socks are great.

What’s the best self care gift that you’ve ever given yourself or someone else?

  • JoannaT

Depending on your budget, a gift certificate for a massage at a local place is also a great self-care gift. I received one a few years ago; when the masseuse asked how I liked massages I had to say I didn’t know because I’d never had one before. I loved it. Coloring books are also super fun, as are the comfy socks.
