I (Dominee, hi! It's nice to meet you!) was waiting (quite impatiently) for Prince Charming to show up, love me, and feed me a magic weight-loss bean so that I could be pretty and love my body. He would love me so that I could love myself and we would live happily ever after (emphasis on happy). The End. Go figure, it didn't happen. Sometimes those Fairy Tales are BS.
When Plan A wasn't working out so I decided to find a way to love myself, my body, and my life and ditch the fairy tale. Sometimes you've got to get your hands dirty and do the work yourself. Save yourself. Let me tell you, it's freaking hard. But you can be happy and you can love your body and there's no magic bean or fairy Godmother that'll do it. It's a lot of trial and error and figuring out what works for you.
Hey, it's a lot like kissing a bunch of frogs!
I'm just a normal, everyday, girl with issues who's working through them and wants to share the journey. You can live a happy life that's not about ethereal photoshoots on the beach, or making a seven-figure salary, or having the perfect family, or Instagraming everything you eat because it's so photogenic. Real life is messy and crazy and all kinds of beautiful and it involves dirty dishes in the sink, bad-mood-meltdowns, and not having your shit together every second of the day.
I want to share all of the tools and processes that make me happy and maybe they'll work for you and maybe they won't but you won't know until you try, and try, and try.
This is my Mission: To encourage you to love yourself just as you are. To love your body at every size. To find happiness and bliss in the mundane and the ordinary and to most importantly realize that there's nothing stopping you, right now, from being happy.
So a little bit about me!
I have anger issues, depression, anxiety, and a severe case of I'm-an-introvert-do-I-really-have-to-leave-the-house-for-this? I'm a huge book nerd and a gamer. I will read just about anything but my favorite genres are historical romance and all things zombies. I've played World of Warcraft for about a decade and I love playing the Sims. I'm horrible at Call of Duty but I play it anyway because it gives me an excuse to curse like a sailor.
Golden Girls will always be my favorite show. I'd say I'm 50% Dorothy and 50% Rose depending on the day. I have two cats and I am forever battling them for my hair ties, no matter how many proper cat toys they have, hair ties are the toy of choice.
I watch way too much reality tv and I'm okay with that, we all need our not-so-guilty pleasures.
In the DC vs Marvel war I will always choose Marvel. My favorite movie is the Avengers: Age of Ultron and the Hulk is my favorite character. I identify with the whole hulking out with anger and yearning for control.
I think I'm a pretty funny person, I don't know how other people feel about it but I think I'm hilarious. The way to my heart is a wicked sense of humor. Laughter is my medicine.
I've worked really hard to work on my issues, to find balance, and to be the happiest person I can be and if I do say so myself I'm not doing a bad job.
What is Blessing Manifesting?
Blessing Manifesting is a place to explore topics of self love, self care, body love, as well as tips to deal with depression and anxiety. It's your online sanctuary for positivity, inspiration, and community.
I want this space to encourage you and inspire you to forge your own path, to discover your own way to happiness and to live an amazing life. I want to help you get to know yourself, really know yourself and to fall in love with the person that you find there.
If you deal with depression and anxiety I want to show you what works for me and maybe it will work for you too. Combine my tips with what the professionals say and let's see if it makes a difference. At the end of the day whether it comes to self care or anxiety we're all different in what works for us, what makes us feel good, and what nourishes our soul. I think that's great. It means we all have a different experience that we can share with one another.
