Write Yourself a Love Letter: Self-Care Exercise

Write Yourself a Love Letter

Today, on Self-Care Sunday I’m giving you all a little assignment. I want you to write yourself a love letter.

I want you to write a love letter.

Guess who’s the lucky recipient?

Yeah, that’d be you.

Write Yourself a Love Letter

Self love, baby. I’m all about it and you should be too. There are no rules about this letter, other than it should be positive and loving. No negatives.

I want you to hear how proud you are of yourself.

I want you to tell yourself how totally kick-ass you are.

How you are the best you that ever was. And you know that thing that your good at? Yeah, you know the one, I want you to talk about it. Acknowledge your skills and your talents.

Write about your greatness.

Write Yourself a Love Letter. So full of love.

If you’re having a hard time try writing it from an outside perspective. Use 3rd person, “Dominee is a very kind and caring person with a gigantic heart.”

Just let the words flow out. They don’t have to make sense. They can simply be random memories or thoughts or jotted down traits that you just adore about yourself. Let it flow and go with that flow.

Keep the letter and whenever you feel down, read it and remember that moment of pouring out your love for yourself.

Did you write your letter? How’d it go?

I love your ideas you post. They are absolutely essential for people to reach that point. So many of us feel we fall short because we are so stressed trying to please others when we would not know ourselves. Much less love our self. Thank you I really really needed this. Blessings an much love an light, Evalena

I wrote a thank you note to myself and then mailed it. I actually really appreciated getting a letter from me!

Just saw a link to this post on your Facebook page. I so love the idea of writing myself a love letter :-) Ellie's Headology Yearbook actually has an activity that involves writing a letter to yourself… I love the idea of combining THAT with a love letter idea.

Man, I LOVE hanging around with you guys. You give me such awesome ideas for feeling good about myself :-)

You are the coolest discovery that I've unearthed on Facebook of late. Thank you so much for having such a rad page/ideas! I doubly appreciate it as I have moved 1000s of miles across the U.S., knowing no one but family (family that turned out to be hard-hearted/evil/mean/etc) & it is indescribably awesome to see such positive posts…when love & light seem to be so lacking in my life of late, I damn near come to tears each time I read anything you post. God bless you…YOU. ARE. AMAZING. :D
