Positive Self-Talk and Affirmations

Today we’re going to talk about how important self-talk and affirmations are to your self care routine.

The way you talk to, and about, yourself is the most important part of Self Love.

When someone compliments you do you automatically gravitate towards contradicting them? This might indicate that you have a difficult time thinking good things about yourself, which is something you ought to start working on!

Positive self-talk is probably something that you’ve done before even if you weren’t really paying attention. When you walk by the mirror and see you are looking especially darling you might say out loud “I look pretty today!” When you’re having a bad day and you tell yourself “I’m going to be okay, everything is going to work out.” That’s positive self-talk and it’s good for your psyche!

Stop telling yourself that you’re fat, that you’re unattractive, that everything sucks, that you are weak, that nothing is ever going to go your way… There are so many negative things that we tell ourselves and sometimes we don’t even realize that we’re doing it. It can so easily become a habit and it does nothing but drag you down.

Change that sort of behavior.

Another way to encourage positive self-talk is to start every day by saying an affirmation. I usually do it while I’m in front of the mirror and getting ready for work.

What is an affirmation? An affirmation is a positive saying that you repeat out loud, or to yourself, to change your thinking in a positive way.

Imagine how nice it would be to wake up, look in the mirror, and say, “I am so completely loved and I am going to have a beautiful day.”

Starting off your day with such beautiful intention is a great way to start changing your life.

If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter then you know that every day at 7:00am Central Time I post an affirmation for you. You can even say them out loud while you are at your computer. Easy peasy and a great way to start your day!
