If you’re a little bit bummed, anxious, heartbroken – is your self care supporting you in those feelings? Are you being extra kind to yourself? Are you remembering to do those things that require energy and effort (that you really don’t want to spend) that will make you feel better? What about reaching out for support?
If you’re doing great, how are you going to keep that mojo? What right things are you doing that need to stay in your routine? What things are keeping you on track and happy? Keep doing those things! I know that whenever I start good routines, specifically yoga – I do great for a while and then I start getting busy and it falls to the wayside. Make time for the things that matter!
My word for 2017 is “Magic” (and my word for this month is recovery – I love Words, don’t judge me) and one of the things on my daily to-do list is to embrace both concepts in my everyday life and especially in my self-care.
Here are some things that I’ve done in the last four days to honor my self-care.
-Taken a luxurious lavender bath
– I’m currently waiting on bread dough to rise so I can bake it in honor of Hestia
– Bought fresh flowers for my altar
– Magically cleansed my living room and gave everything a good scrub. It feels so fresh, clean, and sparkly.
-Spent time at my altar listening to my spiritual tunes and singing along
-Managed to add yoga into my weekly routine
I ask you to take a look at your life right now and ask yourself what you need.
Then give it. Without condition. Don’t push it back until later when you “have time” but take care of yourself right now, or at least as soon as possible. You should always try to make yourself a priority. It is not selfish to take care of yourself and push back plans to get things done for you. That’s a great thing to remember going into the New Year.
