The Law of Attraction

Chances are that you’ve heard a lot about “the law of attraction”. I know I have, especially in many of the online circles I’m in. The Law of Attraction forms the basis of teachings put across in Rhonda Byrne’s best-selling book “The Secret”. But what is the law of attraction and how could it benefit you? Well, let’s take a moment to run through the basics! What Is the Law of Attraction? Let’s start out with a brief summary. The law of attraction is a belief that the universe provides you with whatever your thoughts are focused on. Accordingly, if you think of positive things and things that you want to manifest and happen, you will live a more positive life in general and these things will eventually come to you. The Mehs.

The “Mehs” are that feeling you get when you’re sitting at home and then suddenly nothing sounds appealing. You don’t want to do all of those things that you usually want to do. However, I do believe in pep talks, in cheering yourself on, and in speaking things into existence. There have been so many days when I’m having a hard time and one of the things that brings me back is just one sentence I repeat over and over to myself. “I am okay.” My favorite mantra, my favorite affirmation.  I use them in other ways too. Usually simple ones. “You…

What’s Your Word?

The New Year is upon us and I find my mind filling with plans and dreams. I know that January 1st, 2014 is just another day. It means nothing but changing a calendar and the last number when you’re writing down the date. But to me, I see possibilities that I don’t see on the other days. It feels new, even if it’s all in my head. It gives me courage to feel like I can change. Maybe it’s that way for you too. I like to pick a word to embody what I want to do/feel/be for the year. New Year’s Resolutions are all well and good but I usually just forget them within a few weeks, there’s already a lot for my brain to remember on a daily basis. A word, however, I can remember one little word, and try to apply it where and when I can.…
